Pregnancy Highlights : Week 17

Due Date:
August 17, 2011

Size of baby:
This little GIRL...or Guy? is the size of an Onion or turnip (I looked for turnips but they were all too small so I used an onion. The onion I used is also not big enough, but it will do. I think it's smaller than the avocado from last week :)) About 5 inches.
Your baby's skeleton is changing from soft cartilage to bone, and the umbilical cord — her lifeline to the placenta — is growing stronger and thicker. Your baby weighs 5 ounces now (about as much as a turnip), and she's around 5 inches long from head to bottom. She can move her joints, and her sweat glands are starting to develop.

Maternity Clothes:
Definitely feel more comfortable in dresses. My pants aren't buttoning and the zipper is barely staying up :)

Gender:
Girl... waiting for confirmation from doctor. Next appt: March 30.

Cravings:
Nada.

Symptoms:
Shortness of breath, stuffed up, kind of the same old same old.

Best Moment(s) this week:
Realizing my stomach is getting bigger. I've been keeping my hand on my belly to see if I can feel any movements and I decided, for some reason, to stick my finger in my belly button and I was shocked. It has changed a lot! It's not as deep, if you will. So, things are definitely changing :)

Thoughts:
I'm starting to realize we have a lot of things to do in the next few months. Now that I feel like time is flying by, I'm feeling more urgency with certain decisions, like, oh, I don't know... where to live! :) It'll all happen!

So what do you think?
Notice a difference from last week to this week?
I feel different!
