Pregnancy Highlights : Week 18

Due Date:
August 17, 2011

Size of baby:
Head to rump, your baby is about 5 1/2 inches long (about the length of a bell pepper) and he weighs almost 7 ounces. He's busy flexing his arms and legs — movements that you'll start noticing more and more in the weeks ahead. His blood vessels are visible through his thin skin, and his ears are now in their final position, although they're still standing out from his head a bit. A protective covering of myelin is beginning to form around his nerves, a process that will continue for a year after he's born. If you're having a girl, her uterus and fallopian tubes are formed and in place. If you're having a boy, his genitals are noticeable now, but he may hide them from you during an ultrasound.

Maternity Clothes:
Same. Pants aren't fitting well, but not quite ready for maternity pants. Soon!

Gender:
Girl... waiting for confirmation from doctor. Next appt: March 30.

Cravings:
Wendy's Frosty's or Potbelly's Milkshakes.

Symptoms:
Shortness of breath, stuffed up, kind of the same old same old.

Best Moment(s) this week:
Starting to look at fabrics for the nursery. The nursery that will be in our new place which we may not have until the baby's born! :) I'm going to share some awesome baby ideas I've found in the next few days.... stay tuned.....

Thoughts:
I'm starting to look into cloth diapers. So many people have told me how fabulous they are.  My friend Lyndsey uses them and I asked her to write a blog post about them.  It's fabulous. THANK YOU Lynds! You have no idea how much you helped!

UPDATE: HOLY MACAROLE! I just saw at the top of my blog on the ticker thingy that our baby is 10" head to toe! They always measure "crown to rump", which this week is 5 1/2 inches (size of a bell pepper) so I always just picture that as the length, too. :) Wow Wow Wow!!

Anything?
(besides the fact that the onion was too small compared to the huge bell pepper!:))

  1. You are just the cutest little preggo ever!! Have you heard about belly bands?? Probably so but if not, they are the best!! Helps you stay in your pants longer, you can by them at Target for like $15. I wore mine most of the pregnancy and again for a few weeks after Avery was born!!
