Pregnancy Highlights : Week 26

Due Date:
August 17, 2011

Size of baby:
The network of nerves in your baby's ears is better developed and more sensitive than before. He may now be able to hear both your voice and your partner's as you chat with each other. He's inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of his lungs. These so-called breathing movements are also good practice for when he's born and takes that first gulp of air. And he's continuing to put on baby fat. He now weighs about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches (an English hothouse cucumber) from head to heel. If you're having a boy, his testicles are beginning to descend into his scrotum — a trip that will take about two to three days.

It's confirmed - A GIRL!!

Anything in the fridge.
Back pain. In one spot. Constant. Hopefully, it will go away BEFORE or right after the baby is born.

We might have a name! I think I'll wait to share it just because it still feels a little up in the air. 3 months isn't too long to wait!

Best Moment(s) this week:
Mother's Day! Matt came home with a chocolate bouquet. It's not all gone yet! I told him I didn't want to eat candy for the rest of my pregnancy - I guess I should have told him about that :) Anyway, he gave me a very sweet card that was signed by him and a name that I assume is our pick for the baby. Week 26. Wow. Time is flying by!
